Happy Halloween!

I am super late on this post but Ashton had an amazing first Halloween! Holidays are so much better with kids and I know that it only gets better as they get older!

We started celebrating early in October. One night for FHE we had a lesson on the Holy Ghost and then painted a canvas and made ghosts out of Ashton's cute feet! Derek held him while I painted his feet. He kicked and giggled when I painted because it tickled so much! We will use it as a Halloween decoration in coming years and Ashton will always be able to see how big his feet were on his first Halloween! It turned out super cute!

We went with Derek's Aunt Sue and Uncle Vern, Tyler, Cassie, Abbey, and Brookie to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins. We went on a hay ride, a wheel barrow ride, and played on the tractors! Ashton loved it- he always loves to be outside! Then we went to Leatherbys for ice cream. It was a really fun day!

We carved pumpkins with my family one night and mine and Derek's pumpkins were all about Ashton! I traced Ashton's hands and feet and then carved them into my pumpkin. It was really cute but Derek's pumpkin turned out the best. He just cared 4 holes- 2 on the bottom and 2 on the sides. He took off all ashton's clothes and stuck him in the pumpkin! He was the cutest pumpkin ever!

On Halloween we took some fun fall pictures and then went trunk-or-treating with Grandma Pasley's ward. My mom and I definitely had more fun than

Ashton but he looked so cute in his lion costume! We went to trick-or-treating at Ryans and then had dinner. It was a fun Halloween!

8 Months!

We have the cutest 8 month old ever! I know every parent thinks their kid is the cutest and I definitely agree! We are so in love with his big bright blue eyes and chubby cheeks! Not only is he super cute but he has got the funnest personality! He is all about fun! We just can't believe he is growing so fast!

At 8 months Ashton:
- Weighs 18 pounds-  big boy! 
- Got his second tooth! It was much better than the first!
- Still crawling backwards but doesn't want to move forward! He will take a few scoots forward but not much!
- Rollovess and scoots everywhere! 
- Goes from sitting position to crawling like a champ!
- Is into EVERYTHING! He discovered our entertainment center and tries to pull out all the DVDs
- Loves to be put upside down
- Is super ticklish! He is really ticklish on the back of his neck, thighs, armpits, and stomach. We love to hear him giggle when he gets tickled.
- He makes the funniest sounds ever. He loves to talk and screech. Recently he has started growling! So funny to listen to.
- Likes to throw- wherever he is (car seat, high chair, exercauser, etc) he throws his toys, bottle, binkie, or whatever he can get his hands on over the side. Then he gets upset cause has nothing to play with.
- Finally sleeps well!! He will sleep anywhere from 10-12 hours straight and I LOVE it!
- Loves to play with anything that he shouldn't- cords, pumping tubes, paper, plastic, etc.
- LOVES, LOVES, LOVES potato chips!
- Hates baby food.


We did another allergy test on his skin and he is still allergic to eggs and we are  waiting to get the results back to see if he is still allergic to peanuts or anything else. We were excited to see that nothing else showed up on the skin test. He may be lactose intolerant but he is not actually allergic to milk so that is good. I may try adding milk or soy back into my diet!

Ashton is developed quite the temper. He knows what he wants and when he doesn't get it he lets us know! We think he has already got the tantrums of a 2 year old so we're in trouble! Unfortunately hes not easily distracted so we can't usually just give him something else. He loves to play with cords (my pumping tubes and electrical cords) so the other day he got my computer cord and I took it away and he screamed and screamed. He is a determined little man!

We started introducing solid foods when he was 6 months old but he HATES baby food. I can get him to it it by tricking him but he doesn't willingly open his mouth for pureed foods. We have just learned to give him our food. We give him little chunks of apples, bananas, potatoes, rice, beans, etc. We gave him a piece of a potato chip one day and he is in love. He sees the bag now and goes crazy! He eats Cheerios and really likes these fruit and vegie melts that we found. We will keep trying baby food but I don't think he's a fan.

 He has always been a very alert and active baby. Since the night he was born his eyes have been wide open and looking at the world around him. He never wants to miss anything. His little personality is just so fun! He is a very happy and smiley baby! We love you Ashton!

7 months!

I am a little slow but Ashton turned 7 months! We can't believe how fast time goes and how much he changes in one month! As time passes he gets more and more fun! He is SO aware of his surroundings now. Its fun to watch him discover every part of this crazy world. The other day I got something out of the fridge and light on the screen turned on. He watched it intently and then his eyes got big when the light turned off. He also watched a fly land on his toy and was amazed watching it walk around and then fly away. Just recently I was making hash browns (one of the few foods I can eat!) and he watched the steam come off of them and disappear into the air. He is so observant and aware of everything! He is just turning into a little boy!

At 7 months Ashton:
- Got his first tooth!
- Rolls like a champ! If he wants something he rolls to it. 
- Can get up onto his hands and knees but doesn't move yet- he wants to crawl so much but just can't quite figure it out!4
- Scoots on his tummy but can only move in a backward direction!
- Loves to play peek-a-boo
- LOVES to splash in the bath and loves his rubber ducky
- Does not like baby food but loves any big boy food we give him (chunks of apples, bananas, carrots, etc)
- Likes to read books but really just wants to eat them all!
- Sticks out his tongue when he smiles-  A LOT!
- Holds his bottle by himself
- Had his 3rd hair cut cause the top and right side grow so fast!  

We love you sweet boy!

Half a Year!!

Ashton is 6 months old! I can't believe how fast time flies! And I can't believe how big my baby is!! He is just getting so fun and playful. I just love everything about him.

Some of my favorite things about Ashton are:
- His big, bright, beautiful, blue eyes! They are so gorgeous and he has long pretty eyelashes! Lucky boy!
- His smile- it makes me smile no matter what!
- His giggle- I know that all baby giggles are cute but his is the best sound in the entire world! He laughs so hard sometimes that he can't breath. One time even threw his head back and laughed! It was one of the best moments ever :)
- How happy he is when he wakes up in the morning. I love waking up to a smiling baby.
- How he sucks on his lips! It is the funniest thing to watch!

I didn't know that I could love someone so much! This little boy has stolen my heart and has taken over my life. He hasn't had the easiest life but he is happy anyway! I know that we each come to this world with our own personalities, strengths, weaknesses and abilities. In his short 6 months of life I have seen that he came to this world strong. He is a fighter! He really has such a sweet and unique spirit about him. He is going to make a difference in this world!

At 6 months Ashton:
- is sitting up like a champ. He still falls over after a while but he is doing great!
- tries to crawl when on his tummy. His legs move like crazy but his arms just aren't strong enough to hold up his chubby body! He can scoot around on his tummy to get his toys.
- has quite a temper! He gets really mad and lets us know it! He doesn't cry or scream a lot but he sputters and makes funny frustrated noises!
- loves to play with his toys- and wants to eat them all!
- is very alert and notices everything around him.
- drools like crazy- I think we are getting teeth but not sure
- tries to suck his thumb and his bottle at the same time
- splashes in the tub and giggles when he makes a mess all over!
- weighs 16 pounds 2 ounces- only 25%- still doesn't love to eat
- 26.5 inches long- 75%

We have loved watching Ashton grow and see his crazy fun personality come out! He makes life so much better! We love you Ashton!!
